Car racing betting is a way to bring the action down on the gravel closer to home. With sportsbook action available on NASCAR and Formula One races, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. Although they’re entertaining on their own right, there’s no question that the races become even more exhilarating once you’ve got something personal on the line. So how should you go about betting on car races?
How to bet on Car Races Online
The first thing you’ll have to take care of is creating an account. Once you’ve gone ahead and signed up, you’ll be ready to make car racing betting predictions on your favorite events. But before you do, it’s important to have some understanding of auto racing betting odds. Below we’ll be taking a look at the most common car racing betting lines.
Most Common Auto Racing Betting Odds/Lines
When you bet on auto racing, you’re essentially betting on a driver to win an event. Because of this, you will be restricted to taking the money line only. So a basic money line will have the name of the driver followed by the odds. These lines look like the following.
| Alex Bowman | +5000 |
The more a driver is favored to win an event, the lower the odds will be to his name. Using the example above, we can see that Alex Bowman isn’t favored to win the event. Subsequently, the payout on his line is quite high. Below we’ll be taking a look at what the car racing odds and payouts are.
Betting Car Racing Money Line
The moneyline is simply betting on one driver to win. We’ve already covered how the odds rise and fall depending on how favored a driver is so now let’s go over the payouts now.
Using the example above, we can see that the sportsbooks are expecting Bowman to fall short. So much so, that a $100 winning bet on Bowman would net you $5,100. If the driver were to be facing +800 odds, then a $100 winning bet on said driver would net you $900 (the original $100 wager + the $800 in winnings).
Car Racing Futures Betting
Betting on car racing futures is similar to betting on a race. The only difference is the time, with futures betting obviously coming much further ahead. Generally futures betting has more lucrative odds due to how far out you can be from the race.
