Online NFL Betting Predicts Rebound for the Falcons
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
This Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons will host the Miami Dolphins for some Week 6 online NFL betting action. The Dolphins had high hopes for the 2017 season but those dreams were quickly harpooned by an injury to starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Furthermore, the addition and lousy play from Jay Cutler has ensured that the Dolphins remain an idle threat in the AFC East. At 2-2, Miami is unquestionably the worst team in the division.
On the other hand, players betting NFL online felt like the Falcons were clear favorites in the NFC South. After all, Atlanta was virtually unchallenged in the division all of last year. But out of nowhere, the Carolina Panthers have emerged as a leading threat not just in the NFC South but in the entire NFC. So, the Falcons will need to bring their A-game if they are to win the division over the Panthers. Atlanta is coming off a Week 5 Bye, well-rested and hungry to avenge their loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 4. Let’s see what kind of rebound sports betting sites are predicting for the Falcons.
Miami Dolphins vs. Atlanta Falcons – Sunday, October 15th
When: 1:00 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Stream: CBS Sports, NFL Game Pass
Online NFL Betting Odds:
Miami Dolphins +11 ½ (-114) 47 (-110)
Atlanta Falcons -11 ½ (-106) 47 (-110)
There’s not much hope for the Dolphins in this game. In order to beat the Falcons, you have to find some method to deter their offense. The problem with that is that Atlanta is too dynamic on offense; they have a great ground game and an even better passing attack. Miami currently ranks 4th in the league against the run, so they probably won’t have too hard a time this Sunday stuffing run lanes. But the Fins rank 22nd against the pass, something that has got Matt Ryan licking his chops right now. And even if they stop the Falcons a handful of times this Sunday, it would be ludicrous to think that the Dolphins’ offense can match them point for point.
Miami’s offense is the worst in the league. That’s not an exaggeration; they literally rank 32nd in points, 32nd in total offense and 32nd in passing. Their running game is slightly better as it ranks penultimate in the NFL. So unless the Dolphins find a new quarterback for this Sunday, online NFL betting players can expect Jay Cutler and Miami to stink it up once more.
Heading into a Bye Week off of a loss is never a good thing. The Bye Week is supposed to be a time for relaxation. But if your team just lost, no one is going to be in a mood to relax – especially this early in the season. So after sitting on their butts with a sour attitude, what can we expect from the Falcons? Will they rejuvenate that explosive offense we saw all of last year? Or will they slip in a division that is getting tougher with each passing week?
