Cy Young Odds

Every season the Cy Young Award goes to one pitcher in each league, picked by a vote. Sportsbooks price that vote from spring training to the November announcement, and BetNow keeps the markets live throughout.
On this page, you’ll discover current prices for the American and National Leagues, a plain explanation of how the futures market prices a pitching race, and a straight read on who can still get there. Anyone tracking MLB Cy Young odds since April already knows how fast one elbow rewrites a board.
2026 AL Cy Young Odds
Cam Schlittler was 40-1 in March. Nobody had him near the top of this board, and then Tarik Skubal went in for elbow surgery in May and the Yankees pitcher came swooping in. His ERA and WHIP both lead every qualified starter in the league.
Dylan Cease is the runner-up. Toronto’s big offseason addition paces the AL in strikeouts and trails by a narrow enough margin in ERA that a huge August would turn the AL Cy Young odds on their head.
Behind those two the board thins out fast, though Drew Rasmussen has been quietly excellent in Tampa Bay. Anyone building a position can check the wider odds and betting lines before locking in a futures ticket.
2026 NL Cy Young Odds
Milwaukee’s Jacob Misiorowski has more or less closed this one out. He sits north of 100 mph on the four-seamer, leads the National League in ERA, and became the first pitcher priced odds-on in this market all year.
Cristopher Sanchez was in front for most of May and June, and his walk rate keeps him in the NL Cy Young odds. Paul Skenes, who won the award last year, sits much further down the board than March suggested he would.
How the Cy Young Futures Market Works
A Cy Young futures bet is a wager on which pitcher will win the award at the end of the season. Sportsbooks set odds for each candidate, and the price you take remains locked in when you place the bet.
American odds show the potential return. At +500, a 100-dollar wager earns 500 dollars in profit. At -150, you must stake 150 dollars to win 100.
The market changes after nearly every start. Strong outings, injuries, workload concerns, trades, and poor form all affect the odds. That is why Cy Young leaders in ERA or strikeouts do not always remain the betting favorites for long.
Cy Young Race Analysis
The two leagues are pulling in opposite directions. In the American League there is a genuine fight, and the gap between Schlittler and Cease is minimal.
The National League looks finished, which is precisely the problem. Misiorowski’s price assumes he keeps taking the ball, and the Brewers have said out loud that his workload needs managing through a pennant race. Shut him down for a fortnight, or hand him a run of five-inning starts, and the Cy Young race becomes Cristopher Sanchez’s to lose.
Volume settles close ballots far more often than casual bettors expect. Of the Cy Young stats that actually swing votes, innings pitched and total strikeouts usually beat ERA when two candidates are otherwise even.
Previous Cy Young Award Winners
Skubal and Paul Skenes split the 2025 awards. Skubal repeated, the first pitcher to manage that since Jacob deGrom, while Skenes went unanimous, something no National League winner had done since Sandy Alcantara in 2022.
