Players who bet on NFL games this weekend will have the opportunity to wager on a thrilling NFC pairing between the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are the team that represented the NFC in last year’s title game but since then have failed to live up to the expectations surrounding the franchise. The Vikings were expected to be contender in the NFC this season but have exceeded that notion by a longshot since Minnesota currently has a 3-game lead over their nearest competition. Let’s take a look at what kind of proposition bets football bettors can make on this weekend’s pairing.

Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings make their way into this weekend’s contest with a 9-2 record that, as previously mentioned, ranks them as the top dog in the NFC North. Minnesota also enters this Week 13 pairing riding a 7-game win streak that stretches all the way back to October. During that tenure, the Vikings have defeated the Baltimore Ravens, the Washington Redskins, as well as the Los Angeles Rams, so they’ve been beating some pretty talented teams. Against the Rams, the Vikings were able to hold the then-ranking No. 1 offense in the NFL to 7 points, ultimately causing Los Angeles to lose out on that spot as the league’s best scoring offense. But it’s not much of a sportsbook betting surprise to see the Vikings defense compete an exemplary level. What is somewhat shocking is seeing how well Minnesota’s offense is keeping it together, despite the troubles they’ve had with injuries at the quarterback position. The Vikings are pegged as the underdog in this matchup and NFL betting players should definitely take them straight up.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons had a rough start to the 2017 season as the franchise posted a 3-3 record through their first games of the season. In short, Atlanta lacked the explosiveness they were known for last year on offense and their defense was getting bullied by their opponent’s week in and week out. But recently, by posting a 3 game winning streak, the Falcons have left the sportsbook betting community wondering whether the team is officially back. A closer look at the opponent’s they’ve faced in that streak will reveal that it’s entirely too early to jump back on the Falcons’ bandwagon.
Atlanta’s 3 most recent wins have come against the Dallas Cowboys, the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys were without Ezekiel Elliott so beating them is not much consolidation to the notion that the Falcons are an elite team. Atlanta did manage to beat the Seahawks by 3-points, but let’s be honest last year’s Falcons squad would have delivered a much more lopsided result. Lastly, the Falcons’ 34-20 win over the Bucs this past Sunday doesn’t do much to prove their merit either.
