Andrade (24-11, 15-9 UFC) has gone a long way since losing her first UFC fight to Liz Carmouche on July 27, 2013. In a UFC career that spanned 10 years, the Brazilian fighter pulled off big wins worthy of post-fight awards and achieved the biggest victory of her career by winning the women’s strawweight title in 2019 over Rose Namajunas. She even tried the move up in weight and had a bout with Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight crown. The match against Suarez marks the fourth UFC fight for Andrade this year. She hopes to avoid her third consecutive loss. As she looks to secure her 16th UFC win – and 25th overall – and remain in contention for the 115-pound title.

Stats-wise, the Brazilian hopes to shrug off the four-inch height disadvantage to Suarez as she plans to use her world-class striking and grappling skills to beat her unbeaten opponent. Suarez (9-0, 6-0 UFC) has been a standout in the promotion. Since winning the Ultimate Fighter finale against Amanda Cooper in July 2016. After the win against Cooper, she notched victories against former two-time strawweight titlist Carla Esparza. Current flyweight champion Alexa Grasso. The former two-time world wrestling championships bronze medalist and two-time world jiu-jitsu championships gold medalist opted to have a three-and-a-half year break beginning in June 2019 to fully heal from her injuries. Suarez made a triumphant return in February when she submitted Montana de la Rosa in two rounds in a flyweight bout. The win kickstarted her UFC comeback and moved her to the Top 10 of the women’s strawweight rankings. Suarez hopes to keep her unbeaten slate intact as she fights another former champion in Andrade.
