Main Card

Cody Brundage

Brundage (8-4, 2-3 UFC) has been good in his stint in the UFC, winning two of his five fights in the promotion. After losing to Nick Maximov via unanimous decision in his UFC debut, Brundage strung up two consecutive wins over Dalcha Lungiambula (submission-one round) and Tresean Gore (knockout-one round). His two-fight winning streak was snapped after losing to Michal Oleksiejczuk by knockout. The Michigan native tried to come up victorious in his next fight against Rodolfo Vieira, but the latter was simply too strong, and in the process, submitting him via arm-triangle choke in the second round. In Brundage’s eight wins, seven were by stoppages (four knockouts and three submissions).

He had a unanimous decision victory in his earlier stints in the independent circuit. Brundage has been knocked out two times, submitted once and lost by decision. He has a two-inch height disadvantage against Dumas and he needs to go inside his rival’s defense to stand a chance of winning the match.

Sedriques Dumas

Also known as “The Reaper,” Dumas (7-1, 0-1 UFC) has taken the souls of his first seven opponents, which include a one-round submission (guillotine choke) victory over Matej Penaz in Week 6 of the 2022 Dana White’s Contender Series. The wins caught the eye of the UFC and immediately was signed to a contract. However, in his first fight against Josh Fremd, Dumas was dominated by his foe and tapped out in the second round. It was the first and only setback of his career. The Pensacola, Florida native is now determined to secure the victory against Brundage and revitalize his UFC career. He needs to use his range and height as he has a two-inch height advantage over Brundage.

Dumas’ edge in range can be used in striking engagements as it could help him dictate the tempo of the fight. The American has stopped six of his opponents with four coming by way of knockout and two by submissions.

Brundage vs Dumas Betting Picks

MMA fight predictions believe that Dumas has the skills and capability to outclass the stocky Brundage in their fight. The fighter from Pensacola, however, needs to use his range to outpace Brundage, who is expected to use his power to outwork Dumas. The fight is expected to end by decision but both fighters have the capability to knock out each other and the know-how to force a submission. In the end, however, Dumas needs to use his reach to make Brundage uncomfortable in the three-round fight.

Meanwhile, the Michigan fighter must come up with a plan to cancel out Dumas’ range and height and possibly win the match. He has to use his strength to smother his thinner opponent in the fence and take him down the mat. A decision win is possible but it could also end by knockout if either of the two fighters connect effective punches early.
