Ribas (11-3, 6-2 UFC) started like a house on fire upon her debut in the UFC in June 2019 by winning four consecutive fights. She dispatched Emily Whitmire, Mackenzie Dern, Randa Markos and Paige VanZant in convincing fashion to become one of the most talked about rising stars in the promotion that time. However, she bumped into a brick wall against Marina Rodriguez, who knocked her out in the second round. She would bounce back against Virna Jandiroba in her next fight but fell to Katlyn Chookagian via split decision in May 2022.

She was given another opportunity 10 months later against Viviane Araujo where she stamped her class and won via unanimous decision. Ribas has stopped six of her opponents, with four coming by the submission variety. She has decisioned five fighters, meaning that she has the cardio to endure a 15-minute encounter and has the skills to dominate her foe.

The American won her first three bouts before succumbing to two Roxanne Modafferi and Alexa Grasso in successive fashion between January 2020 and February 2021. She was able to bounce back with a win over over Miranda Maverick and that began another streak where she won four straight matches. After her win over Maverick, she strung up unanimous decision victories over Montana de la Rosa and Jessica Eye before getting another split decision triumph over Andrea Lee in March this year. Barber comes back three months later against Ribas as she aims for her fifth straight win and a possible rankings rise if she emerges victorious in the fight.

This means that she can endure the punishment of her opponents and at the same time find ways to earn a victory whether by KO, submission or decision.
