The fighter known as “The Jaguar” outclassed Jarno Errens by majority decision and edged Franis Marshall by split decision. He seeks to stretch his winning streak against Ghemmouri in an opportunity to rise up the featherweight rankings once more. The six-foot Gomis was initially slated to fight Lucas Almeida but the latter pulled out due to a “medical issue.” Due to this, the UFC decided to pit Gomis and Ghemmouri. The 26-year-old fighter stakes his 10-fight winning streak against Ghemmouri, who has fought in various fight circuits around the world before making his debut in the UFC.

Gomis has recorded seven finishes in his career, including six knockouts and one submission win. He also has five decision victories under his belt. He has landed 39% of the significant strike he attempted at an average of 1.97 per minute. Gomis has absorbed 1.17 strikes per minute and has defended 81% of those strike attempts. In terms of grappling, Gomis has normed 1.5 takedowns per 15 minutes at an accuracy rate of 60%. Yanis Ghemmouri

Ghemmouri (12-1) will make his debut inside the octagon after having a successful stint in various independent circuits around the world. The fighter known as “The Desert Warrior” was initially scheduled to lock horns with Caolan Loughran in a three-round bantamweight encounter. However, there were pre-fight issues surrounding Muin Gafurov (visa) and Lucas Almeida (medical) and the UFC decided to pair Loughran with Taylor Lapilus, then placed Ghemmouri into a clash with William Gomis.

Ghemmouri has recorded three knockouts and four submission victories in his career and has decisioned five other fighters. His only defeat was to Steve Polifonte via triangle submission eight years ago. He was a standout in the Brave Combat Federation before he signed a deal with the UFC. He has beaten Vladislav Novitsky (split decision), Bair Shtepin (TKO-2) and Mehmosh Raza (KO-2) in the promotion to keep his unbeaten streak intact. The Lyon native steps inside the octagon on a nine-fight winning streak and he will look to extend it in his match against the equally talented Gomis.
