Also known as “The Last Pirate,” Charrière (18-9-1) is a veteran of 28 fights and won 18 of those. The stints earned him the right to fight in the UFC and he will make his much-awaited debut in his home country. Charrière is on a three-fight winning streak and he defeated Daniel Bazant (split decision), Pedro Souza (technical knockout) and Diego Silva (TKO). He seeks to extend the streak to four matches and leave a positive note in his first match inside the octagon. He will come into the fight with a one-inch height disadvantage but he is raring to fight and win the match to make a lasting impression in the promotion.

Charrière has recorded 13 finishes in 28 fights with 10 coming by knockout and three by submissions. He has five decision victories to his credit. Meanwhile, most of his losses were by decisions (eight) and has one submission defeat. He has never been knocked out in his career. The Frenchman has a draw in his resume and it happened five years ago.

Manolo Zecchini

Zecchini (11-3) will make his debut in the big stage after a successful stint in the independent circuit. The 26-year-old fighter known as “Angelo Veneziano” hopes to barge into the UFC by storm by winning his first match in the promotion. The Italian has strung up four victories in his last five fights, including two straight knockout wins over Souksavanh Khampasath in May 2022 and Aboubakar Tounkara, five months later. Zecchini will make his first fight this year and what a way to start 2023 with a UFC match against Charrière. He will come into this fight with a one-inch height advantage that he hopes to utilize in the showdown.

Zecchini has 10 finishes in his mixed martial arts career, including nine by knockouts and one submission. He also one decision win under his belt. The Italian had lost one each knockout, submission and decision. He has an excellent 82% knockout rate and he is expected to use his striking prowess to pull off another knockout win and gain praises from the UFC brass. An impressive win would certainly help his status in the promotion, especially that this is his first fight in the UFC.
