UFC Sportsbooks Recap UFC Fight Night 114Posted by: Mike Davis
This past weekend’s online UFC betting event has come in past. In its wake, it has left a multitude of fans that are aching for the next big event from the promotion. Unfortunately, apart from Dana White’s Tuesday night contender series, fans will have to wait all the way until September before the UFC does another Fight Night, let alone PPV. Let’s recap what went down at Fight Night 114, before looking ahead at what the promotion has in store for us.
Online UFC Betting Recaps Pettis vs. Moreno
The main card was headlined by a flyweight bout between Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno. Neither fighter had too great of a following, but Pettis took advantage of the fact that he shares a surname with Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis – a former UFC champion and brother of Sergio.
The fight itself was enough to keep UFC sportsbook fans satisfied. Moreno started strong and displayed early dominance by landing an array of body kicks, as well as an early takedown. As the fight progressed, Pettis began to display more and more dominance, using superior form to overwhelm his opponent. As the bout approached it’s end, both fighters had exchanged a fair amount of stunning blows, and it wouldn’t have been all that surprising if the bout ended in a draw. However, the judges felt that Pettis had done enough to edge out the decision victory. Fans can catch the complete results of the main card below.
Sergio Pettis def. Brandon Moreno via Unanimous Decision (49-46, 48-46, 48-46)
Alexa Grasso def. Randa Markos via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Niko Price def. Alan Jouban via TKO (punches)
Humberto Bandenay def. Martin Bravo via KO (knee)
Sam Alvey def. Rashad Evans via Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
Alejandro Perez def. Andre Soukhamthath via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
With both the headlining and co-headlining fight of the night ending in decisions, fans felt like the buildup didn’t quite pay off. However, the under card featured something seldom seen in the UFC.
There were two beautiful submissions delivered at Fight Night 114, one came on the preliminary card and the other on the early preliminaries. Rani Yahya made a good amount of fans this past weekend, as he delivered a crisp kimura finish over Henry Briones that brought their fight to an end two minutes into the first round. However, Jordan Rinaldi’s Von Flue choke over Alvaro Herrera stole the show. It’s a finish rarely seen in the promotion, but one that always excited UFC betting sites.
