This weekend’s event will mark the second time the UFC has held an event in Sunrise, Florida. Originally this weekend’s action was to take place in Miami, Florida but some changes in February saw a different venue scheduled. Additionally the event was to be free to watch and streamed on ESPN. However, the promotion decided to bump the main card over to ESPN+. On of top that, there were a ton of changes to the headlining fight. Originally we saw Yoel Romero get booked to face Paulo Costa as the headliner. Nevertheless, the UFC then decided to book Romero vs. Jacare, replacing Paulo with Souza. Moreover, the promotion would then replace Romero with Hermansson, giving us the card we’re now facing.

Souza is one of the most recognizable faces in MMA and is well-known for his superior grappling. Having already been crowned a champion in Strikeforce, it’s more than evident that we’re dealing with a quality fighter here. Additionally, Jacare’s wins over the likes of Robbie Lawler, Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort make his talents beyond reproach. However, Jacare has struggled with consistency as of late seeing as how he’s 2-2 in his last 4. His most recent fight was against Chris Weidman that saw the Brazilian deliver an undeniably brutal knockout over former champion Weidman. Granted, his fight before that resulted in a split decision loss to Gastelum.
The odds here have yet to come out on the headlining fight and for good reason. Specifically, UFC betting online sites are having a hard time sizing this contest up. Some are undoubtedly sticking with the Brazilian while others are taking Hermansson. So which side should mobile betting players take here? Let’s take a look at what Hermansson has done as of late before making our call.
Hermansson is a Swedish mixed martial artist currently competing out of Norway. So far Hermansson has 23 bouts to his name and has posted a 19-4 throughout his career thus far. Additionally, it appears that Hermansson’s strength lies in his striking, seeing as how 11 of his victories have come via knockout. On the other hand, Hermansson appears to be susceptible to grappling as half of his losses have come via submission. Having posted a 6-2 record in his 8 fights in the UFC, Hermansson is ready to step up to the next step of recognition. This weekend’s event will undoubtedly help him accomplish this.
So which fighter should you take here? Judging by Hermansson’s susceptibility to grappling, Souza is the way to go.
