Mauricio Rua, better known as “Shogun”, is a 38-year-old UFC veteran that came from Curtiba, Parana in Brazil. He stands at six-foot-one and trains at the Universidade Da Luta. Shogun has been in the UFC since September 2007 and made memorable matches against Lyoto Machida, Brandon Vera, Dan Henderson, Chuck Liddell, Mark Coleman and Jon Jones in his early years. In his last six fights, he won four matches. His last registered match was in November 2019 in UFC Fight Night 164 against Paul Craig. The event finished with a controversial split draw from the judges.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is a 44-year-old veteran and he is a Brazilian fighter that hails from Victoria Conquista in Bahia, Brazil. “Minotouro” is six-foot-two and trains at his own stable in Team Nogueira. His professional record is now at 23-9 with nine wins through decisions. Nogueira made his mark in the UFC way back in November 2019. He already created an impact by winning against Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz. Even with some losses, he impressed battling Anthony Johnson and Ryan Bader. He battled Marcio “Shogun” Rua in August 2015 in UFC 190 where he lost by a unanimous decision. Nogueira is coming to this match from a loss back in May 2019 in UFC 237 as he got knocked out by Ryan Spann in the first round.
