UFC on ESPN+ 14: Shevchenko vs. Carmouche 2 – Saturday, August 10th
This weekend’s action will mark the first time the UFC has made a trip to Uruguay. As aforementioned, the headlining bout of the night will be a rematch between Carmouche and Shevchenko. The duo had previously met in 2010 with Carmouche taking the fight via a second round TKO. Now Shevchenko, the reigning champion, has a lot riding on this bout. So will she be able to avenge that loss or will Carmouche have her number once again? By the looks of it, the legal betting odds are going with Shevchenko all the way.

Valentina Shevchenko enters this weekend’s fight with a 17-3 professional MMA record. Shevchenko won the flyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk back at UFC 231 in December of 2018. Of course that wasn’t the first time that Shevchenko battled for a title but it was the first that she won. In June of this year, the Muay Thai fighter defended her belt with a brutal head kick over Jessica Eye.
It was easily one of the most vicious head kicks of the year but now Shevchenko has to follow up on that performance. Surprisingly the odds are pegging her as massive favorite despite the fact that Carmouche has beaten her. Granted that was 9-year so ago so the odds obviously think Shevchenko has grown into a much stronger fighter. After all, Shevchenko has consistently faced the best opposition in the UFC and has consistently came out on top. The odds are expecting a blowout win and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of performance Shevchenko delivers here. After all, she is dead set on avenging one of her 3 career losses.
Prelims & UFC on ESPN+ 14 Betting Odds
The odds aren’t giving Carmouche much of a shot in this weekend’s bout and it’s easy to see why. Simply put, Carmouche just hasn’t faced off against the best competition in the UFC. Additionally, when she has, she hasn’t exactly come out on top. In fact, her most recent high profile win was over Jessica Andrade way back in 2013. Although she enters riding a two fight win streak over Lucie Pudilova and Jennifer Maia, neither of those two jump off the page at you. So barring some miraculous turnaround, we should see Shevchenko put on a clinic this weekend. The odds are expecting this through and through. The money line isn’t offering much value from the favorite but you can counter that with a parlay.
