UFC on Fox 22: 12 Gauge vs. The Karate Hottie
Posted by: Mike Davis
After the dust had settled on the debacle that was UFC 206’s main fight, Max Holloway walked out of the octagon as the Featherweight Interim Title holder. As the online UFC betting community will remember, Anthony Pettis failed to make the weight ergo was disqualified from competing for the title. However, the UFC still allowed Holloway to compete for the interim title and the Hawaiian didn’t fail to disappoint as he scored a finish early in the 3rd round. Overall 206 had some intense moments ranging from Cub Swanson silencing his critics by dominating the young up-and-comer Doo Ho Choi, to Donald Cerrone’s brutal head kick knock out, delivered seconds after befriending Matt Brown in the octagon. All things considered the night survived the disappointments at the weigh-ins and the original injury to Cormier that forced the reshuffling of main events. Now, MMA sportsbook fans will have to turn their attention to the UFC’s next event; UFC on Fox 22: VanZant vs. Waterson.
UFC on Fox 22 will be held on Saturday, December 17th at Golden 1 Center, the home of the San Francisco Kings. Over the years the UFC has gained a huge following specifically in the California-Nevada region so the arena should be packed come Saturday. Scheduled to fight are a mix of UFC veterans and promising young fighters. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the official main card as well as the online UFC betting odds each fighter will be facing.
MMA Odds – UFC on Fox 22 – Saturday, December 17th
Paige VanZant 4½ (+140) -115 vs. Michelle Waterson 4½ (-160) -105
The night will be headlined by the bout between Paige VanZant and Michelle Waterson and it appears that most UFC betting sites are having a hard time picking a favorite, with neither fighter being pegged as the underdog. VanZant will be coming into this contest with a 7-2 MMA record. This fight will mark “12 gauge’s” 5th UFC fight and she holds a 4-1 record within the UFC. VanZant is coming of a devastating head kick TKO against Bec Rawlings. Waterson is the much more experienced fighter of the two and will be heading into this matchup with a 13-4 MMA record. However, this fight will mark only her 2nd bout in the UFC and it’ll be interesting to see how “The Karate Hottie” fares against VanZant. Waterson is coming off a 3rd round rear-naked choke finish against Angela Magana. The online UFC betting odds are predicting a close contest between these two and fans shouldn’t expect anything else.
