UFC Fight Night 172 is their third fight card in just a week and it will be held on Saturday, May 16. This event will be held at the closed-door venue at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Fans can catch the fight through Pay Per View and UFC Fight Pass. The main event will feature knockout artists in a heavyweight battle between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. Anthony Hernandez is a young 27-year-old fighter that is nicknamed “Fluffy” in the ring. He hails from Dunnigan, California and trains at the MMA Gold Fight Team. He currently has a 7-1 record coming into this fight and he has five submission victories under his name. Prior to coming to the UFC, Hernandez made his name in LFA and GKO as a submission artist. He had a chance to impress Dana White. This was with a submission victory in Tuesday Night Contender Series but it was overturned by NSAC. He made his MMA debut in February 2019 but he was defeated by Markus Perez via submission. He made it up in August 2019 at UFC Fight Night 157 where he had an impressive second-round victory over Jun Yong Park through an anaconda choke.
Kevin Holland is known as the “Trailblazer” and he is still at a very young age in MMA at 27 years old. He stands at 6-foot-3 and trains at the Phalanx MMA Academy. His hometown is in Fort Worth, Texas and his current fighting record is at 16-5. Holland made his name known to Dana White in the Contender Series where he won through a unanimous decision against Will Santiago back in June 2018. He earned his spot on the UFC roster and made his debut against Thiago Santos in UFC 227 but lost via decision. He learned his lesson and won his next three matches. His momentum was halted in his previous match in UFC on ESPN back in October 2019 when he submitted to Brendan Allen in the second round via rear-naked choke.
