Cody Garbrandt is a 28-year-old American MMA fighter that hails from Uhrichsville, Ohio. He is known as “No Love” in the octagon and he fights out of the well-renowned Team Alpha Male. His current record now stands at 11-3 with nine victories coming from knockouts. Garbrandt came in the UFC in January 2015 as an undefeated fighter that fought from different organizations such as NAAFS, Pinnacle FC and Gladiators of the Cage. He came in and won five-straight UFC bouts to earn the right to battle Dominick Cruz and claim the championship. He got knocked out in his first title defense against TJ Dillashaw in UFC 217 and their rematch in UFC 227 resulted in the same. Garbrandt tried to make a comeback but he got knocked down again in UFC 235 by Pedro Munoz.
Raphael Assuncao is a 37-year-old bantamweight fighter that came from Recife, Pernambuco in Brazil. He stands at five-foot-five and trains in his own stable at Ascencion MMA. His professional fighting record is 27-7 with 13 victories from decisions. Assuncao has been in the UFC since March 2011. After losing his debut fight, he went on to win seven straight matches until falling to T.J. Dillashaw in July 2016 at UFC 200. Another winning streak came in in his next four bouts after the loss. 2019 has not been a good year for Assuncao losing both of his matches that year. The first was against Marlon Moraes in UFC Fight Night 144 while the other was a decision loss with Cory Sandhagen in UFC 241.
