He was put in the cage against Justin Michael Sumter and impressed with a first-round knockout. He made his UFC debut just this October 2019 in UFC 243 in October 2019. Pitolo lost the match after pushing Callan Potter to the limit but lost through a unanimous decision after three rounds.
