Derrick Lewis is an American heavyweight fighter that grew up in Houston, Texas. This 35-year-old MMA veteran has been fighting out of Grind House Fitness and he has been dubbed as “The Black Beast”. Lewis came into the UFC in 2015 and has 18 bouts under the world’s most prestigious MMA promotion. It was a good bounce-back victory for him as he lost back-to-back fights against UFC top names Daniel Cormier and Junior dos Santos. Lewis is a fighter that usually fights at heavyweight but he will be going down to battle Latifi. Expect Lewis to bring in his power as 22 of his wins can from knockouts and he will be looking to using his strength to end the bout early against Latifi.
Ilir “The Sledgehammer” Latifi is a Swedish fighter that hails from Malmo, Sweden. This 36-year-old fighter usually fights in the light heavyweight division and will battle Lewis. Latifi fights out of Allstars Training Center and he currently carries 14-7 professional MMA record. He hopes to use this match against Lewis to bounce back after losing to Volkan Oezdemir and Corey Anderson. Latifi entered the UFC in 2013 and in 12 bouts he lost five. Latifi can end his bouts from his hands or submissions. Seven of his 21 bouts all ended in the judge’s scorecards and he is 4-3 when the match went full time. Expect that Latifi will also try to test the power of Lewis but he needs to put this match in the ground in order to have a good chance.
