The “Notorious” is a 31-year-old lightweight fighter from Ireland and fights out of SBG Ireland. This time around, he will go up to battle Cerrone at the welterweight division. Back in March 26, 2019, Conor McGregor announced that he is retiring from the UFC but it was prevented from happening since he has a live contract in his current fight promotion. With that, he wanted a rematch with Khabib Nurgamomedov but instead, he is given a fight to Cerrone before getting another title shot. In his last registered UFC fight back on October 6, 2018, McGregor lost gas in the fourth round and lost to Nurgamomedov via neck crank submission hold.
All these years, McGregor has known to carry a knockout punch that would put any fighter to sleep. Six of his last wins were all from either KO or TKO from punches. It should be interesting if McGregor will be showing rust on the octagon and a win here would create noise once again for another title shot for the most popular UFC fighter.
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone has been around in the UFC since 2011. This 36-year-old welterweight fighter hails from Broomfield, Colorado in the USA and fights out of BMF Ranch. He registered four fights in 2019 and lost the last two fights via TKO. It has been tough for Cerrone since 2017 as he registered six losses in 10 fights. Prior to that, Cerrone is a lethal fighter that packs a huge punch but he can also defeat you on the ground as almost half of his wins came from submissions. Cerrone needs this win over McGregor to help him propel his name and resurrect his career in the UFC.
Expect Cerrone to try and get this match on the ground as McGregor’s mat skills still need a lot of work and all his opponent’s four losses came from submissions. If Cerrone manages to control the hands of McGregor getting to him and put this match more on the ground, he will definitely have a chance on taking this match.

McGregor and Cerrone Betting Picks
With the career of Cowboy Cerrone on the decline, he is considered as the huge underdog by Best Sports Book Online. Even with McGregor out of action for more than a year, it is seen that he would probably give the KO blow to Cerrone and start talking to the mic after the fight and get a chance to fight Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship. Meanwhile, McGregor should not neglect the submission power of Cerrone which has been a lethal weapon in the UFC since 2011.
