TUF is well known within the MMA betting community as many of the promotion’s top-fighters have appeared on the show. This season pitted Team Garbrandt, led by current UFC men’s bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt, against Team Dillashaw. Team Dillashaw was led by none other than TJ Dillashaw, who has gained some notoriety within the UFC for leaving his former team and hopping ship. The drama between both coaches made way for some pretty dramatic scenes during TUF 25.
Main Card & Online UFC Betting Odds
Michael Johnson 1 ½ (-145) -165 vs. Justin Gaethje 1 ½ (+125) +145
Marc Diakiese 2 ½ (-145) -265 vs. Drakkar Klose 2 ½ (+125) +225
Jared Cannonier TO BE POSTED vs. Steve Bosse TO BE POSTED
Brad Tavares 2 ½ (-265) +115 vs. Elias Theodorou 2 ½ (+225) -135
Jordan Johnson 2 ½ (-160) -255 vs. Marcel Fortuna 2 ½ (+140) +215
Apart from the welterweight finals for the series, the night will be headlined by a lightweight match between UFC veteran Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje – who is making his first appearance for the promotion. The sportsbook odds are ruling against the newcomer, which is surprising considering that he’s undefeated in his professional career (17-0) and is a former WSOF Lightweight Champion.
On the other hand, Johnson has never been a champion and wields an unimpressive record of 17-11. Johnson is coming off a loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 205. Johnson got absolutely manhandled in that bout and never stood a chance against the Russian madman.
Despite all this, the MMA betting lines still think Johnson is the way to go. Gaethje is coming off a 4-fight streak that saw him finish his opponent, via TKO each and every time.
On a side note, the trash talk between these two has been atrocious. It’s been apparent that while both of these fighters are great on their feet in a literal sense, they’re not nearly as good in a metaphorical sense. Seeing these two try to talk each other down has been one of this year’s cringe-iest events of the year.
