The latest online UFC betting news brings a much awaited update on the McGregor-Mayweather mega-fight that has been in the works for quite some time now. The news had hit somewhat of a dead end when it was revealed that negotiations between Dana White and McGregor weren’t really happening due to McGregor expecting his first born. But since Conor Jr. has successfully been brought into this world, the negotiations between McGregor and Dana White picked up right where they left off. In fact, the latest news should put a smile on any fans who were looking forward to this crossover between the two biggest names in MMA and boxing.

Latest Online UFC Betting News & Previews

Players who bet on MMA woke up this morning to a lovely surprise: news that finally moves the narrative between McGregor and Mayweather forward. Specifically, Dana White made some startling comments on TNT’s post-Eastern Conference Finals show that revealed where things currently stand.

White’s Revealing Comments

“The McGregor side is done,” the UFC’s president stated on TNT. “I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now. I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I’ve got one side done.”

We’re officially half-way there. The fact that McGregor and White were able to agree to terms represents a milestone in this bout’s journey. However, the most difficult part is yet to come.

Anyone who follows Mayweather knows the fighter has one of the biggest egos in the world. Because of this, Mayweather, despite being retired and out of the fight game for so long, considers himself to be the A-side. What that means is that Mayweather believes that he’s bringing more to the table than the McGregor and the UFC.

“Now it’s time to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen.”

Seeing Mayweather demand an unreasonable amount of the cut would not be unimaginable. The underlying question to this fight is whether or not Mayweather is truly the A-side. Considering how much the UFC has blown up in the last couple of years – all thanks to McGregor’s rise to the top, it’s hard to imagine a former boxing star really selling that many PPVs. We’ll have to wait to see how this turns out.

Other News Around the UFC

While the McGregor-Mayweather narrative keeps pushing forward, other MMA betting stories continue to develop around the promotion. One of the more interesting ones involves light heavyweight champion Michael Bisping and his efforts to tie up a fight against GSP.

Several weeks ago, the UFC put on a press conference in which they announced that GSP would face Michael Bisping for a shot at the title upon his return to the UFC. GSP had never lost his title, and Dana White used this as the rationale behind giving a fighter coming out of retirement a shot at the title right away.

However, once it was revealed that GSP would not be ready to step back into the cage until later this year, after October to be exact, Dana White announced the fight would be thrown off. This was because Bisping wanted to fight in July and did not want to be sitting around doing nothing. However, the latest news reveal something else.

Bisping recently announced that he is suffering from a knee-injury that will keep him sidelined for quite some time. The fighter even went on to announce that he will likely refrain from fighting until the end of the year. While his exact condition is unknown, it looks like Bisping is doing all he can to secure a shot at GSP. Not so much because he wants to face the Canadian, but rather because of the money. It seems that everybody in the UFC is trying to line up that money fight.
