Fight Night 95 will be headlined by a match between two UFC newcomers. Cristiane Justino may be Invicta Fighting Championship’s current 145 lb. featherweight champion but she still has to prove her ground in the UFC. She will be squaring up against Lina Lansberg who has never fought in the UFC but holds a record of 6 – 1 in MMA. This match will be Justino’s second in the UFC after winning her bout against Leslie Smith earlier this year.
Justino holds and impressive 16 – 1 record in MMA and it is unclear how long she will be fighting in the UFC. The 31-year old Brazilian is displeased with the lack of diversity for women’s weight-classes in the UFC. The UFC only has 135- and 115-pound weight classes, a long way off from the 145-lb featherweight division that Justino is comfortable in. She has been extremely vocal about this issue and the UFC has finally given into her demands by scheduling her Catchweight bout at 140 lbs. However it doesn’t seem that the UFC will be willing to open up another division, no matter how much Justino thinks she deserves her own weight class.
Justino is one of the older female fighters in mma betting and her opponent is as well. Lansberg is 34-years old and is coming off six straight victories. The Swedish fighter made her professional debut back in 2012 at the age of 30. Although she lost her debut match her recent streak has seen her pull off four stoppages including the most recent knock out of Maria Hougaard Djursaa earlier this year.
UFC Fight Night 95 will be going down the 24th of September and will be hosted at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium. With 13 boats now on the official fight card Fight Night 95 is shaping up to be quite the event.
