Fight Night 105 Main Card Sportsbook Preview and Odds

It seems that all online UFC betting sites can talk about is the overrun story regarding the potential matchup between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. One minute reports come flooding in about both parties being close to reaching agreed upon wages, the next both McGregor and Mayweather take to social media to throw not-so-subtle shade at one another. Nevertheless, one upcoming event that will occur with certainty is the UFC’s next forthright show this upcoming weekend.

On Sunday, February 19th, UFC Fight Night 105: Lewis vs. Browne will be held at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Sunday’s event will mark just the second time the UFC has visited Nova Scotia – Latin for New Scotland – with the first being UFC Fight Night 54 way back in October of 2014. Let’s take a look at what those who bet on MMA can expect to see this weekend, as well as the sportsbook odds each fighter is facing in their respective bout.

ONLINE UFC BETTING – FIGHT NIGHT 105 – MAIN CARD – Sunday, February 19th

Johnny Hendricks 1½ (-190)  +130 vs. Hector Lombard 1½ (+165) -150

Alessandro Ricci 2½ (-245)    +325 vs. Paul Felder 2½ (+205)         -400

The night will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between former Bellator fighter Derrick Lewis and Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne. Browne, who fights out of Oahu, Hawaii, is coming into this matchup with an 18-5 MMA record. Browne is 6’7” and Sherdog has the fighter listed at 244 lbs. In comparison, Derrick ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis owns a 17-4 MMA record, fights out of Houston Texas, and is listed as 6’3” 264 lbs. Both fighters wield a 79 inch reach. Perhaps the neck-and-neck reach between the fighters provoked the bookies to give this fight fairly even online UFC betting odds.

Originally, the night was supposed to be headlined a contest between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos and longtime divisional contender Stefan Struve, which would have been a rematch of their fight on February 2009 at UFC 95. Dos Santos won that matchup with a TKO over Struve in the first round. In the end, Struve suffered a shoulder injury that would prevent the fighter from redeeming his loss. Although most sportsbook fans were eager to see this matchup, and although Struve would’ve had over 6 weeks to recover, promotion officials still elected to scrap the fight.

Additionally, Alvaro Herrera was scheduled to face Alessandro Ricci at Fight Nigh 105 but had to pull out mid-January citing an injury and was subsequently replaced by Paul Felder – who comes into Sunday’s contest as an overwhelming sportsbook favorite.

Sara McCann was set to face former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship challenger Liz Carmouche, but in the end Carmouche was replaced by Gina Mazany.
