Biggest Fight in Online UFC Betting History

The biggest online UFC betting – scratch that, the biggest sporting event of the year, and quite possibly decade, has been confirmed: Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather will face each other the 26th of August.

‘Biggest Fight in History of Two People Swinging’

Where to begin? Perhaps by paraphrasing Dana White, the man responsible for getting this deal inked, who said that this fight will be the biggest in the history of two people swinging at each other.

Most MMA betting sites will agree that a man who has stake in this fight would be more than willing to hype up this bout but there’s no denying that this is what anyone in the sports community will be talking about in the coming months.

For starters, the entire planet should be thankful for Dana White’s role in this negotiation. Think back to the how gruelingly boring the negotiations between Mayweather and Pacquiao were. Constant rumors never amounted to an actual fight, and even when the bout took place everyone felt that both fighters had passed their prime and the public was robbed of the actual competition which we were promised.

The UFC’s president wasn’t about to let that happen on his watch. White was able to take the UFC from out under the ground and built it into a multi-billion dollar company. White’s ability to get both sides to sign so quickly is another brilliant example of how White is unquestionably the greatest promoter currently walking the face of the earth.

There’s no doubt that this will be an easy fight to sell. The greatest defensive boxer who has ever lived is about to face off against the biggest name in online UFC betting. Conor McGregor epitomizes the ultimate fighter; a man who will step up and fight against anybody, anywhere, under any rules. We’ve seen this time and time again and now McGregor is willing to step into a new world to prove that he is in fact the baddest man on the planet. Granted, at 40-years of age, Mayweather is a little past his prime. But that doesn’t take anything away from his unblemished 49-0 record.

It’s all in the Online UFC Betting Details

The details of the fight were fairly straightforward. The bout will take place at 154 lbs. and both fighters will sport 10 oz. gloves. USADA will take care of testing to ensure that both the fight is in fact clean. There were provisions within the contract to ensure that any type of elbowing or kneeing would result in a hefty financial penalty for McGregor. Judging by how much the Irishman likes his money, fans can rest assured knowing McGregor will refrain from such nefarious activities.

The fact that the fight takes place at 154 lbs. is actually a win for McGregor. Notorious is currently the reigning champion in the UFC’s lightweight division, which competes at 155 lbs.. Since Mayweather is smaller than McGregor, the more weight he made his challenger cut the more the scales would be tipped in his favor. Allowing McGregor to compete at this weight will ensure that the UFC’s own can compete at his full strength.

The next issue is the weight of the gloves. UFC fighters compete using gloves that weigh 4-6 oz., with McGregor sporting the former. Now the Irishman will have to swing with more than twice as much weight as he’s used to. Combined with the fact that this will be a full 12-round fight, which contrasts heavily with the 5-round fights the UFC employs, and it would not surprising to see McGregor winded as the fight approaches the later rounds.

The sportsbook odds are coming out heavily in Mayweather’s favor. However, anything could happen with McGregor in the ring. The lopsided odds could give way to some pretty hefty compensation.
