Nick Kyrgios Advances Past Nadal

The Mexican Open is delivering some interesting online tennis betting action, specifically from Nick Kyrgios. The Australian professional tennis player recently bested Rafael Nadal and caused quite a stir while doing so. While Kyrgios is usually known for his antics, his recent musings have caused Nadal to speak out against him. Nevertheless, the Aussie isn’t having it one bit. But before we break down the most recent tennis sports betting drama, let’s break down his win over Nadal.

Nick Kyrgios Advances Past Nadal

It was not an easy win by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, Kyrgios had to rise up from a set down in order to save three match points and usurp the world famous Nadal. In the end the match delivered over three hours of riveting fun at the 2019 Mexico Open. But the odds weren’t the only thing the Aussie had to overcome as he also faced nausea and even a stiff back on match day. Notwithstanding those obstacles, Kyrgios resorted to some interesting moves to win this match.

Despite recently falling to 72nd in world rankings, Kyrgios delivered a stunner this past Wednesday in Acapulco that soon ignited the online tennis betting wire. Facing top-seeded Nadal, who has triumphed twice at this specific event, Kyrgios rose to the challenge the Spaniard posed. In the end Nadal took only one of his 10 break-point opportunities and failed to put Kyrgios away in the closing phases of the match. And that’s despite the fact that Nadal was leading 6-3 in the final set tiebreak. Afterwards we saw Kyrgios blast off by delivering 5 straight points to ensure the Spaniard’s elimination.

Kyrgios dropped the first set and quickly called for his trainer, stating that he felt sick. Nevertheless, the Aussie pushed on fearing backlash from the press. But once the second set started, Kyrgios undoubtedly looked like a different player. The atmosphere ended up frustrating Nadal who called for the crowd to quiet down. Humorously Kyrgios second his call by shouting ‘Shut up!’ coupled with an expletive that drew a warning from the ump. The Aussie continued to battle a bad back but managed to come out on top 3-6 7-6 7-6.

Kyrgios Claps Back at Nadal

After the match, it was clear that Nadal was rather aggravated. In reality, there’s not much mystery as to why he was so ticked off. Kyrgios has quite a reputation around the world and we saw it on full display with this underhand serve.

“He is a player who has ginormous talent,” Nadal said of his opponent following the match. “He could win Grand Slams and fight the top positions of the ranking, but there is a reason why he is where he is, He lacks respect for the public, the rival, and towards himself.”

Clearly the Spaniard didn’t take too kindly to the above displayed server. Moreover, it’s clear that Nadal didn’t enjoy his opponent shouting at the fans. After all, were it not for the fans tennis would not be a professional career. In the end it didn’t take long for Kyrgios to fire back.

“He doesn’t know the journey I’ve been through, he doesn’t know anything about me so I’m not going to listen at all,” Kyrgios responded. “It’s the way I play, it’s the way he plays.”

It should be obvious to mobile betting fans that there is no love between these two.
