The Indian Wells tournament is proceeding at full pace with players qualifying for the next round. Some of the top players have already progressed to the third round after their successful performance at the second. The men’s singles and doubles have been exciting ever since the tournament began. Dan Evans and Cameron Norrie were the other players that punched their ticket to the third round. The British pair has been determined to win and their hard effort certainly paid off. Evans defeated Kei Nishikori with a 4-6, 6-3, and 6-4 record. The No. 1 British player will now need to face Diego Schwartzman in his next round. Evans had to bring out his skills in their final set and facing the Argentine in the next round is not going to be an easy challenge.
It was not an easy victory for Cameron Norrie either after he almost drew against his opponent. However, he did triumph eventually. Norrie took a 5-1 lead against his opponent and gave up his lead in the second. In his first set, Norrie was 6-4 while Tennys Sandgren secured the second with 7-5. The final set was where Norrie dominated with 6-0. Norrie will need to play in the round of 32 against Bautista Agut.
The US Open Champion Danii Medvedev entered his third round with ease after taking on Mackenzie McDonald. Medvedev won 6-4 and 6-2 to reach the third round at Indian Wells. The Russian is currently the top seed in the ATP and WTA Masters tournament. At his match, Medvedev never faced a break point while he still managed to convert three of his seven break chances. Mackenzie is a tough opponent to defeat and Medvedev will need to square off against Filip Krajinovic. The Serbian managed to defeat Marcos Giron in his previous round.
