Online tennis betting helps bring the action on the court straight to your home. Not only that, it makes watching tennis that much more invigorating. From Wimbledon to any of the other eye-catching stops on the ATP Tour, there are tennis betting odds to capitalize on throughout the year. So how should one go about betting on tennis online?

How to bet on Tennis Online

The most basic step is to simply sign up by creating an account. Once you've gone ahead and made an account, you’ll be ready to make tennis futures predictions or even bet on tennis matchups. But before you do, it’s important to get an understanding of how the tennis betting odds work. Below we’ll be taking a look at the most common types of online tennis betting lines.

Most Common Tennis Betting Odds/Lines

Generally speaking, the most common types of tennis betting lines consist of betting on futures lines or tennis matchups. Tennis matchups are pretty straightforward. Here you are betting on which player will come out on top in a given matchup. For the most part, these lines look like this.

Kei Nishikori -885
Mikhail Kukushkin +593

As you can see,Kei Nishikori is pegged as a favorite straight up. All in all, the favoritism is quite heavy. Below we’ll cover tennis betting odds and the different types of payouts they offer.

Betting Tennis Money Line

When you bet on a matchup’s money line, you are simply betting on a player to win that individual matchup. Generally this line begins at -110 and will continue to rise if a player is heavily favored. In the example above we can see that Nishikori is a big favorite over Kukushkin. With -110 odds you need to wager $110 in order to be eligible for $100 in winnings. Sticking with the example above, you would need to wager $885 on Nishikori in order to be able to win $100. In short, a $885 winning bet on Nishikori would net you $985 (the original $885 + the $985 in winnings).

On the other hand, we can see that Kukushkin is pegged as the underdog here. Since he’s the underdog, taking him straight up offers a ton of value. In fact, a $100 bet on Kukushkin could gain you $593. All in all, a $100 winning bet on Kukushkin would net you $693 (the original $100 + the $593 in winnings).

Betting Tennis Futures

Betting Tennis futures is very similar to betting tennis matchups. But instead of betting on a single round, you are betting on a specific player to win the tournament. This line will have the name of the player followed by the payout.

Woods +800

If a player is heavily favored, the payout won’t be as lucrative. Betting on futures allows you to sign up for some lucrative action if you’re able to call the tournament in advance.
