Valencia vs Barcelona 01/25/2020 – Matchday 21 in the La Liga continues on Saturday, January 25 as Valencia hosts league leaders Barcelona at the Mestalla Stadium. Valencia is currently in seventh place in the table. They are coming off an embarrassing league defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened Mallorca last week. Valencia

Currently out of the European places in the La Liga table, Valencia wants to get back on the winning track after losing their most recent league game last weekend. It was an embarrassing performance by the Oranges as they were embarrassed 4-1 away from home by Mallorca. Valencia was already down 3-0 in the first half with Daniel Parejo making the situation much worse by being sent off in the 51st minute.

Mallorca made it 4-0 with 11 minutes left before Ferran Torres scored a consolation goal in the 82nd minute. It should also be noted that Valencia has not defeated Barcelona in the league since April 2016, earning three draws and losing four games during that span.

Players to Watch: Maxi Gomez (7 goals, 1 assist), Ferran Torres (4 G, 3 A), Rodrigo (2 G, 6 A), Daniel Parejo (6 G, 2 A), Daniel Wass (1 G, 5 A), Kevin Gameiro (4 G, 1 A).

Barcelona

Still atop the La Liga table, Barcelona wants to stay ahead of their rivals Real Madrid heading into Matchday 21. The Blaugrana is just ahead by two goals but is tied on points with Madrid. This match against Valencia is Barcelona’s first league game under new manager Quique Setien. This will be the second league game without superstar striker Luis Suarez. He’s out for four months due to a knee injury.

In their previous league game, Lionel Messi salvaged the 1-0 victory by scoring the winner in the 76th minute against Granada. Despite having a new manager and without a top striker, Barcelona has not lost at Mestalla Stadium. Look for the Argentine to carry the load once again with Antoine Griezmann filling in for the injured Suarez.

Players to Watch: Lionel Messi (14 G, 6 A), Antoine Griezmann (7 G, 4 A), Arturo Vidal (6 G, 1 A), Arthur Melo (2 G, 3 A), Frenke de Jong (1 G, 2 A), Ansu Fati (2 G, 1 A).

Valencia hosts Barcelona at the Mestalla Stadium as part of Matchday 21 of the La Liga. The Messi-led team has the better side overall despite changing managers midseason and losing one of the best strikers in the world. Since February 2007, Valencia has not defeated Barcelona at home. It is one of the reasons why the Best Online Sportsbook is favoring team B in this matchup.

Moneyline: The safer bet is with Barcelona since their moneyline is -114 while Valencia has a +276 moneyline. A draw between the two teams has a moneyline of +330.

Score Prediction: Barcelona impresses in Quique Setien’s first league game, defeat Valencia at Mestalla Stadium 3-1.
