PSG Alters Premier League Odds On Matteo Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi is determined to leave Arsenal F.C. this summer and the number of clubs interested continues to grow. The latest club to join the race for the services of the French player is Paris Saint-Germain, crowding the likes of Barcelona, Inter Milan and Villareal. Premier League odds on where the 21-year-old midfielder will be altered although Villareal remains the favorite. And the reason for that is because Guendouzi has a history with new boss Unai Emery.
Villareal holding good Premier League odds
Emery is the man behind the reason why Matteo Guendouzi is at Emirates Stadium. This dates back to 2018 when the French national moved from Lorient. Emery made the most out of Guendouzi but all that changed when Mikel Arteta took over. Making matter worse was that incident with Neal Maupay of Brighton. Both players got it on with Guendouzi gloating about salaries. Such did not sit well with Arteta, stressing that it was not the culture he was trying to establish at Emirates Stadium.
Since the football restart, Guendouzi has not seen a single minute of action. Arteta issued a challenge to him to align with the team’s vision but it seems pretty clear that the French player’s defiance remains. Guendouzi has been training all by himself, likely trying to stay in shape as he prepares for a looming transfer. Though there are teams interested in taking him in, nothing has been set in stone.
Arsenal planned to package Guendouzi in a deal involving Atletico Madrid. The intent here was to land Thomas Partey. Unfortunately, Los Indios was not interested in any player swap and were only open to a cash deal. Anything can change moving forward but it seems pretty clear they are not interested in the French national.
Guendouzi’s exit is imminent. He has already informed Gunners management of his plans to move out and there seems to be no stopping him. He and Arteta are just not seeing eye-to-eye and one has to go. That guy is Guendouzi.
Ozil also holds questionable future
However, he is not the only one who has not seen action since the football restart. Mesut Ozil is another player who has been linked to a move out of Emirates Stadium. Similar to Guendouzi, Ozil has been criticized for his laidback attitude. This is seen as the reason why Arteta has not used him with the Gunners coach wanting him to first change his ways.
Like Guendouzi, Ozil has had his share of interest. Fenerbahce has been linked to the German player but Ozil prefers to stay in Europe. He plans to finish his deal with Arsenal until 2021. Unfortunately, he may find himself playing somewhere else. Unless he finds a way to align with Arteta’s system, he could be loaned out. The only problem there is that he holds a hefty weekly wage. If Ozil does get loaned, a likely scenario would be for the Gunners to pay a portion of his salary. This is the looming scenario if no club comes forward to take him on a permanent transfer.
