Premier League Bets On Edouard As Option For Arsenal If Aubameyang Exits

Arsenal F.C. finds itself in an even bigger mess as far as signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is concerned. Rather than seal that deal months ago, the Gunners now find themselves in a precarious situation. The Gabon national is holding off on signing any deal, preferring to see all offers on the table first. This means that Premier League bets on Aubameyang staying at Emirates Stadium are not looking that good.

With the Gunners left in waiting, the best that they can do right now is consider options. Though there is still a chance that Aubameyang will stay, Arsenal needs to make sure. The last thing they want is to enter next season with a dilapidated roster. They do have options and one of them is Odsonne Edouardo. The Gunners were interested in the French player several months back. However, it was mainly to prepare for another player who would be leaving. That player is Willian Borges da Silva.

Premier League bets on Eduoard mixed

Though Odsonne Edouard has been playing well this season, possibly filling up the Aubameyang void may not be that easy. This season, the 22-year-old has accounted for 28 goals in 45 matches. He has performed well since arriving in 2017 from Paris Saint-Germain. This has led to interest from several clubs. Aside from Arsenal, also interested are Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United. Celtic FC is seeking $25 million for Edouard.

Right now, Edouard could be an option but not at the top of Arsenal’s list. Several other names will be available. But at the end of the day, keeping Aubameyang is still their preference. And for good reason.

Aubameyang has been performing well since the football restart, something most felt was an audition of sorts. It could have been a push to show Arsenal the type of player they are taking for granted. If not, it may have been an audition to show other teams that he is pretty much available. Unfortunately for the Gunners, it appears Barcelona took the bait.

Barca looking for options for Martinez

The original target for Barcelona was Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan. But the problem there is that he may be too expensive for Blaugrana to get. Inter is seeking roughly $115 million for Martinez. Considering most clubs are now trying to hold off on lavish spending, Inter may end up keeping the 22-year-old player. Hence, the next best thing to do is to skim the market for someone cheaper.

There is no telling how much Barca could offer Aubameyang. Arsenal was reportedly set to offer him a weekly payout close to $317,000 in wages. He currently makes $251,000 per week

The chances of Barca offering Aubameyang something better may not be that high. So the best Arsenal can do right now is wait. After making the Gabon captain wait for months, Aubemeyang is now calling the shots. Any deal offered now will reportedly be thumbed down. And so the tables are now turned and Mikel Arteta is unlikely to be happy with it.
