The 2017 online soccer betting season, or rather the 2017 online MLS betting season, is inching towards its conclusion. Next week, fans will be able to wager on the conference matchups as both the East and West will host games to determine which club shall represent them in this year’s MLS Cup. We’ve already broken down the first leg of the Eastern Conference’s finals so let’s take a look at the first matchup of the Western Conference’s Finals to be held this upcoming Tuesday.

Houston Dynamo PK (-140) 2 ½ (-125) +138
Seattle Sounders/Houston Dynamo Draw +247
Much to everyone’s surprise, the Houston Dynamo were able to turn an abysmal 2016 season into an extremely successful one in 2017. After competing in 34 regular season games, the Dynamo amassed a 13-10-11 record which yielded the club 50 points on the year. That tally ranked Houston 4th in the conference standings and 10th overall in the MLS. To get a ticket to this year’s playoffs, the Dynamo had to survive the Sporting Kansas City in the Knockout Round of this year’s MLS Cup Playoffs. Houston was able to do just that as they delivered a 1-0 online soccer betting finish over Kansas City to keep their postseason dream alive. Afterwards, the Dynamo were tasked with facing the Portland Timbers in the Conference Semifinals. Game 1 of the conference semifinals ended in a underwhelming 0-0 score but Game 2 was much more thrilling with Houston coming out on top 2-1 to take the series. Ahead of the conference finals, the online betting odds are siding with the Dynamo by a considerable amount, even giving them better odds than the draw.
The Sounders turned in a 14-9-11 record for the 2017 season, earning the franchise 53 points on the year. That 48 point tally ranked Seattle 2nd in the conference and 7th overall in the MLS, a sizeable improvement from where the team had finished. Since the Sounders finished so high in conference standings, they were afforded a 1st round bye and did not have to compete in the knockout round. However, they would face the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Conference Semifinals. The Whitecaps had just triumphed over the San Jose Earthquakes 5-0 and were hopeful they could do the same to Seattle. That didn’t turn out to be the case as Game 1 finished 0-0 before the Sounders took off in Game 2 to finish with a 2-0 shutout score3 over Vancouver. Despite having a higher seed and arguably a better performance all season long, the Sounders are still coming into this matchup as the underdog.
Fans placing sports bet online on this matchup will want to pay special attention to Clint Dempsey, Seattle’s top scorer and one of the most recognizable faces on the US national team. Dempsey has 14 goals on the year and will be looking to add a few more next Tuesday.
