The CONCACAF Gold Cup is heading towards an unexpected Final matchup that is sure to make online soccer betting fans out of the whole nation, even if it’s just for a lone weekend. The United States is set to face Jamaica this upcoming Wednesday in the Gold Cup’s title match. Few sports betting sites could’ve predicted this matchup, which makes the final all that much better. Let’s take a look at how the semifinal rounds turned out before we break down this matchup.

Online Soccer Betting Reviews Gold Cup Semi-Finals

The semifinals for the Gold Cup were held this past weekend with the first leg being held Saturday and the second leg taking place Sunday.

Saturday’s contest pitted Costa Rica against the US. The game was back and forth early on but the Ticos inability to put forth consistent pressure on offense was their ultimate downfall. The USA never took their foot off the pedal and walked away with a seemingly flawless 2-0 performance.

The second contest of the weekend featured Jamaica taking on Mexico. The online soccer betting odds predicted a tumultuous match and that’s just what fans got. Both sides gave it their best but in the end the Jamaicans scathed past 1-0, thanks to an 88th minute free kick goal from Kemar Lawrence.

Both the US and Jamaica are now set to face off this Wednesday, delivering an epic conclusion to what many consider a brief sneak peek of next year’s World Cup. Let’s take a look at what the sportsbook lines are predicting for this year’s final.

The US has finally returned to the CONCACAF Gold Cup finals, missing just one title match since their 1-0 victory over Panama back in 2013. Jamaica is making their second and back to back appearance in the Finals Last year, Jamaica suffered a 3-1 loss to Mexico (which they go to avenge this past Sunday) and will now be looking to shock the States. Nevertheless, online soccer betting sites are ruling against Jamaica once again.

This pairing brings back memories of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals that forced Jamaica and the US to face each other. The US was pegged as a sportsbook favorite in that contest as well, but the Jurgen Klinsmann-led Jamaicans were able to pull out one of the biggest victories in the nation’s history. Jamaica earned the right to compete in last year’s finals and they’ve done so once again this season.

This particular matchup is enticing because it pumps a breath of fresh air into a sport that is often plagued with rigging accusations. If CONCACAF had their way, the US and Mexico would face each other in every Gold Cup Finals. Seeing Jamaica compete for a shot of glory lets us know that competitiveness is alive and well in the Gold Cup.
