Toronto FC

Toronto has delivered quite a praiseworthy performance this season. In just their eleventh season as a franchise, Toronto FC was able to win their 6th Canadian Championship with a 3-2 aggregate over Montreal, which rightfully earned them a spot in the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. The club would add to its list of 2017 accomplishments earlier in September won they picked up their first Supporter’s Shield trophy with a 4-2 home win over the New York Red Bulls, also earning the top spot of the league with the most points on them online MLS betting year. Toronto FC would finish the MLS regular season with 69 points after delivering a masterful 20-5-9 year. Coincidentally, the club was able to set the record in the MLS for most points in a season, beating the previous 68 point mark set forth by the LA Galaxy. Entering the MLS postseason, Toronto FC earned high honors by receiving the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed. In the Knockout Round, or the first round of the playoffs, Toronto FC earned a bye due to their high-ranking regular season performance. In the Conference Semifinals, the franchise faced the New York Red Bulls, who delivered a 4-0 beating to the Chicago Fire in the previous round. Toronto won the first game 2-1 while the Red Bulls picked up Game 2 with a 1-0 finish. Toronto would advance due to their goals having priority. Surprisingly enough, despite their stellar performance so far in 2017, the sportsbook betting odds are still siding against the Canadian team.

Columbus Crew

Columbus hasn’t been able to match the success Toronto delivered this year, further throwing the odds on this match into question. The Crew finished the regular season with a 16-12-6 performance that yielded 54 points on the year, ranking Columbus 3rd in the Eastern Conference. Nevertheless, the Crew’s success earlier this year, while not all that flashy, was still plenty good enough to get them into the postseason with a 5th place seed. The Crew had to pick up a much needed win in the first round versus Atlanta United, the 4th seeded team. Columbus picked up a 3-1 over their first postseason opponent without much of a hassle. Afterwards, the Crew defeated New York City 4-3 in aggregate. Clearly Columbus’ postseason record proves that they can ball with the best of them. But looking at the value available on Toronto FC, there’s no other bet to make than to back the Canadian team.
