World Cup betting keeps on going this week with a thrilling Nigeria vs. Argentina matchup. Despite having what many consider to be the best player on the planet, Argentina is struggling quite a bit in this year’s World Cup. So far they have yet to win a game and are facing a -3 goal differential. Notwithstanding those troubles, Argentina has a chance to make it out of the group stage with a dominant victory over Nigeria this Tuesday. What kind of World Cup sports betting odds are they facing?

World Cup Betting Odds:
Nigeria currently ranks second in the Group D with 3 tournament points. The group is currently heralded by none other than Croatia, who has racked up 6 points so far in this year’s World Cup. Right now Nigeria owns the No. 2 spot in the group. However, that spot is at risk in this Tuesday’s matchup. Ultimately, the Nigerians need to get a win to ensure that they’ll advance. Theoretically they’ll slip in if they get the draw as well, but there is a scenario in which Iceland beats Croatia by 3-0 and advances past Nigeria. Granted that’s a pretty unlikely scenario, but the best thing for Nigeria to do would be to beat Argentina. From what we’ve seen out of the Argentinians, Nigeria could get the job done. However, Nigeria’s defense hasn’t been that great. But then again, neither has Argentina’s.
Players to Watch: Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), and Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow).
Argentina needs a win to get out of this group stage. Not only that, it would also be better for Argentina if Iceland loses their matchup versus Croatia. Considering how dominant Croatia has been in this year’s tournament, it seems very likely that they get the job done against Iceland. While the win or die mentality might help some people out, it’s not looking like it will be much help to Argentina. Messi is supposed to be the catalyst behind this team’s success but all we’ve seen is a frustrated man.
Players to Watch: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), and Angel Di Maria (PSG).
