Man Utd to Get Lisandro Martinez, Lingard Joins Nottingham Forest

Lisandro Martinez – The transfer blitz continues for Manchester United as they acquired Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez from Ajax. The Dutch giants agreed to let go of Martinez for about USD67 million. This is with USD57 million serving as initial payment and the remainder as performance-related bonuses. In a statement, the English Premier League giants expresses satisfaction with the transfer agreement. He will reunite with former boss Erik ten Hag. The deal’s approval is still subject to medical, final player terms, and UK visa requirements.

Lisandro Martinez helps Ajax win two Dutch Eredivisie titles. He was part of the roster that qualified for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 last season. This is United’s third acquisition in the transfer window. They secure the services of midfielder Christian Eriksen and left-back Tyrell Malacia. The team’s latest transactions seek to help the Red Devils. This act is to improve on their disappointing 2021-22 season where they finished sixth overall. The deals will entice sport betting enthusiasts to place their bets on United in the coming tournament.

Newly-promoted Nottingham Forest Sign Jesse Lingard

Newly-promoted English Premier League squad Notting Forest acquires former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard. This is done on a free transfer. Lingard, 29, declared himself as a free agent last month after 11 years at Old Trafford. In 231 appearances for the Red Devils, he scored 35 goals. Lingard also left a good impression with West Ham when he was loaned for the squad during 2020-21 season. There were even rumors that the player might secure a deal with the Hammers but Forest was fast enough to get Lingard’s services.

It reports that Nottingham Forest offers the footballer USD240,000 a week. Lingard joins former United teammate Dean Henderson in Nottingham Forest, who will play in the Premier League for the first time in 24 years. He will also team up with new signings Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone, Omar Richards, Neco Williams, Harry Toffolo, Lewis O’Brien, Brandon Aguilera, Wayne Hennessey, and Taiwo Awoniyi. Lingard hopes that his entry to Forest will raise his stock with England’s World Cup squad. Four years ago, he was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals and just missed out on a place in the Euro 2020 squad last year having made the preliminary list.

Djed Spence Signs with the Spurs

Djed Spence will bolster the Tottenham Hotspur defensive line as he signed a five-year deal that could rise to USD24 million. Reports says that Spence’s initial price was around USD15 million. But, he hits the maximum if it reaches add-on clauses. Spence scored three goals in his 46 appearances with Nottingham Forest last season. He helped the team earn the promotion ticket to the Premier League by beating Huddersfield in the play-off final. Spurs boss Antonio Conte seeks to improve the team’s fourth-place finish last season.

Aside from Spence, Champions League entrants Tottenham also secured the services of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Clement Lenglet. Spence began under Fulham’s academy before moving to Middlesbrough in 2018. He transferred to Forest and the decision helped him big-time as he earned an England Under-21 recognition in March and a move to Tottenham. Spence’s move to the Spurs will help the team contend with the Premier League giants in the 2022-23 season and improve their stature in the European soccer betting scene moving forward.
