Looking Over this Weekend’s Online Soccer Betting Schedule

Posted by: Anthony Yaylor

This weekend provides the perfect online soccer betting action, with the FIFA Confederations Group Stage coming to a close and whatnot. There will be a total of 4 matchups this weekend, to determine which teams will advance to the semi-final. Let’s glance over this week’s results before we break down this weekend’s matchups.

Thursday’s Online Soccer Betting Results

This past Thursday, the odds makers had a hard time pegging favorites in either matchup. Cameroon and Australia were both facing similar odds and the same could be said about Germany and Chile. In the end, sports betting sites proved they knew exactly what they were doing, since both games ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the end, Thursday’s results didn’t have much of an impact on Group B’s leaderboards. Chile and Germany are still tied for the lead with 4 points a pop and Australia and Cameroon are tied for third place with 1 point.

We already went over Wednesday’s results and their impact on the sports odds for the rest of the tournament, but let’s run over the current leaderboard in Group A before we break down this weekend’s matchups.

Mexico is currently leading the pack alongside Portugal, with both nations sporting 4 points. Russia own the No. 3 slot in the group with 3 points and New Zealand is at the bottom of the barrel.

Below are this weekend’s scheduled online soccer betting matchups.

FIFA Confederations Cup – New Zealand vs. Portugal – Saturday, June 24th

When: 11:00 am ET

Where: Stadion Krestovskyi

Series: Group Stage (A)

TV: Fox Sports 1, Telemundo

Stream: Fox Soccer 2 Go

Online Soccer Betting Odds:

New Zealand +2 ½ (-125)      3 ½ (-126)       +2508

Portugal -2 ½ (+110) 3 ½ (+111)      -824

New Zealand/Portugal Draw +965

Unsurprisingly, sports betting sites have Portugal pegged as the favorite. The Portuguese have yet to taste defeat in this tournament, but they have drawn. If Russia can stall Mexico, Portugal should have a clear shot at finishing first in Group A.

FIFA Confederations Cup – Mexico vs. Russia – Saturday, June 24th

When: 11:00 am ET

Where: Kazan Arena, Kazan

Series: Group Stage (A)

TV: Fox Sports 1, Telemundo

Stream: Fox Soccer 2 Go

Sports Odds:

Mexico PK (-135)       2 ½ (+109)      +143

Russia PK (+120)       2 ½ (-124)       +211

Mexico/Russia Draw +245

The sports odds aren’t as certain about this matchup. Russia is coming off a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Portugal and although they lost that contest, they played well enough that the Mexicans know they’ll have their hands full with this one. If history has taught us anything it’s that Russia can defend the homeland like no other and we might see that prowess on display once again this Saturday.

FIFA Confederations Cup – Chile vs. Australia – Sunday, June 25th

When: 11:00 am ET

Where: Otkrytiye Arena, Moscow

Series: Group Stage (B)

TV: Fox Sports 1, Telemundo

Stream: Fox Soccer 2 Go

Online Soccer Betting Odds:

Chile -1 ½ (+102)       3 (-115)           -287

Australia +1 ½ (-117) 3 (EV) +796

Chile/Australia Draw +435

Group B could have some interesting results. With Chile and Germany both being favored in their respective matchups, it’s likely that both teams will tie, making for a very interesting semi-final round.

FIFA Confederations Cup – Germany vs. Cameroon – Sunday, June 25th

When: 11:00 am ET

Where: Olimpiyskiy Stadion Fisht

Series: Group Stage (B)

TV: Fox Sports 1, Telemundo

Stream: Fox Soccer 2 Go

Sports Odds:

Germany -1 ½ (+108)            3 (-101)           -261

Cameroon +1 ½ (-128)          3 (-114)           +691

Germany/Cameroon Draw +425

Seeing the reigning champs enter as favorites comes as no surprise. This might be the easiest bet of the weekend.
