World Cup Betting Odds:
Croatia’s World Cup breakout came at their first ever tournament appearance. Back in 1998, the Croatians managed to finish 3rd overall in the tournament. Since then, the club has failed to make it out of the group stage. In the European Championships, Croatia has made two quarterfinals appearances but have failed to win the tournament itself. All in all, the country enters this year’s draw with one of the best midfielders in the world. Real Madrid’s Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic as well as Barca’s Ivan Rakitic and Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic. That’s quite the compilation of eye-catching clubs. In addition to a tremendous midfield, Croatia has Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren in the backfield. No doubt about it, Croatia will be one tough team to beat.
Players to Watch: Mario Mandzukic (Juventus), Luke Modric (Real Madrid), and Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona).
Nigeria punched their World Cup ticket back in October when Alex Iwobi scored a crucial goal against Zambia. On top of that, Nigeria turned some heads when they played Argentina in a friendly. Their 4-2 winning performance gave them some notoriety in the eyes of some bettors. We’ll find out if it was luck on June 26th when those two face off once again. All in all the country has never made it out of the group stage and will be vying to snap that drought this time around.
Players to Watch: Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), and Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow).
