Players looking to bet on the World Cup have but one more month to wait before they can scratch that itch. Despite being amongst the smallest countries in Central America, the Ticos manage to turn heads on their way to their deepest World Cup run yet. This time around, the Ticos will kick off their tournament action in the Costa Rica vs. Serbia contest. What kind of turnout are this year’s parlay payout odds predicting for the Central American country?

Bet on the World Cup Odds:
Coming off the country’s most successful World Cup performance, the Ticos are hopeful to find success in this year’s tournament. However, considering that they drew the same group as Brazil, the Costa Ricans aren’t exactly holding their breath. That said, one of the biggest Costa Rica was able to find that level of success was their astounding goalkeeping. Navas put on a clinic through every step of the tournament and was awarded by a first-class ticket to play for Real Madrid. Now, a couple years older, we’ll have to see if Navas is able to be the wall that he was for Costa Rica back in 2014.
Players to Watch: Keylor Navas (Real Madrid), Joel Campbell (Real Betis), and Marco Ureña (LAFC).
This year’s draw marks Serbia’s 12th trip to the World Cup. Despite the frequent appearances, Serbia’s best finish was 4th back in 1930. Moreover, Serbia has yet to made it out of the group stage since 1962. Considering the countries they’ve drawn this time around, Serbia is hopeful they’ll be able to break that drought this time around. A win over the Ticos in their opening match would certainly help. Players looking to bet on the World Cup can tell that the odds are favoring Serbia, although they’re not exactly pegged as the betting favorite.
Players to Watch: Aleksandar Kolarov (AS Roma), Branislav Ivanovic (Zenit St. Petersburg), and Nemanja Matic (Man U).
