Anteroom of Major League Soccer Weekend Soccer Betting

The Major League Soccer betting weekend is chock full o’ opportunities for sportsbook fans who like to bet on soccer.

Houston Dynamo vs. Toronto FC

Date: Friday, April 28th

Venue: BMO Field

Houston Dynamo +1 (-121) 2½ (-137) +475

Toronto FC -1 (+101) 2½ (+117) -172

Houston Dynamo/Toronto FC Draw +327

Toronto snapped a three-game winless streak and handed the Chicago Fire their first loss in four contests with a 3-1 win on Friday. Italian forward Sebastian Giovinco returned to form with a two-goal performance after scoring only once in five games. Eriq Zavaleta also scored a goal. Toronto has been a mixed bag this season; they have dropped only one game, but they had won only one prior to Friday, having drawn back-to-back ties twice previously.

In light of two underwhelming results, Dynamo manager Wilmer Cabrera opted for a 4-4-2 diamond against San Jose on Saturday as opposed to the 4-3-3 he’d been using lately. Among other changes Alex played at the point of the formation behind the two forwards, which may or may not have allowed him to draw penalty which Erick Torres converted for his seventh goal of the season – the most in soccer betting history.

Colorado Rapids vs. Orlando City SC soccer betting preview

Date: Saturday, 29th April

Venue: Orlando City Stadium

Odds for fans who bet on soccer:

Colorado Rapids +½ (+105) 2½ (-109) +370

Orlando City SC -½ (-125) 2½ (-111) -125

Colorado Rapids/Orlando City SC Draw +265

The Rapids lost a third straight game 1-0 to the Minnesota United on Sunday. Colorado was the better team in the first half except for one little, teeny, tiny detail; they failed to capitalize on the few scoring chances that arose. The Rapids’ lack of accuracy in front of the opposing goal is beginning to become symptomatic.

Orlando City is 5-1 this season and has won their last three games in a row. Canadian striker Cyle Larin continued his New York scoring streak on Sunday against the NY City, contributing the two goals – his 5th and 6th of the season – with which OCSC defeated the locals 2-1. In spite of their winning ways, the Lions have not scored more than two goals in a single game, and have not won any games by more than a one-goal.

Portland Timbers vs. FC Dallas soccer betting preview

Date: Saturday, 29th April

Venue: Toyota Stadium

Odds for fans who bet on soccer:

Portland Timbers +½ (+125) 2½ (-125) +430

FC Dallas -½ (-145) 2½ (+105) -145

Portland Timbers/FC Dallas Draw +284

The Timbers rebounded from a loss to Sporting Kansas City with a 2-1 win over the Whitecaps on Saturday. Darren Mattocks scored his first goal of the season and against his former team, no less. Portland’s defense also looked sturdier thanks to the return of Liam Ridgewell.

Dallas remains undefeated this season, though having played two fewer games means their only second in the league two points behind the selfsame Timbers. A win on Saturday would change that, however.
