St. Louis Blues

The Blues were pretty dominant in their opening round of the playoffs. After all, they took care of business 4 games to two. However, they haven’t been as dominant in this series. Although they were able to take Game 1 at home 3-2, they suffered a disastrous outing in Game 2 losing at home 4-2. Now with the series all tied up, St. Louis has to bounce back on the road. If they fail to do so and let Dallas take the lead here, the Blues might not be able to bounce back.

After all, we saw what Dallas was able to do to top-seeded Nashville in their opening series once the Blues got some momentum going. All things considered, it’s up to the Blues offense to get this job done tonight. This is because the Blues’ offense ranked 15th in scoring while Dallas finished the season 28th in scoring.

Players to Watch: Alex Pietrangelo (0 G, 7 A, 7 PTS.), Jaden Schwartz (5 G, 1 A, 6 PTS.), and Colton Parayko (1 G, 4 A, 5 PTS.).

Dallas Stars

Coming off a dominant road win, Dallas is confident they can take the lead at home tonight. And since Dallas is 7-3 in their last 10 meetings against the Blues, it stands to reason that they’ll come out on top tonight. However, to get this win tonight, Dallas will once again have to get past Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington. All in all Binnington has been great this postseason, turning away 74 of 80 goal attempts before the Blues recent loss to St. Louis. In that Game 2 loss, Binnington allowed just three goals off of 34 shots. Granted his defense could’ve been more helpful here, but that’s still a great performance. It appears that volume is the only way to get past this man so that must be Dallas’ game plan tonight.

Players to Watch: Jamie Benn (2 G, 6 A, 8 PTS.), John Klingberg (1 G, 6 A, 7 PTS.), and Roope Hintz (4 G, 3 A, 7 PTS.).
