What a wild finish to the Eastern Conference’s Finals. The Ottawa Senators were able to hang on for dear life, sending the heated contest into overtime, and then double overtime. But in the end, Chris Kunitz’ second goal of the night assured that Pittsburgh would advance to the hockey betting online Stanley Cup Finals. Now the Penguins are sitting on a legitimate opportunity to win back-to-back titles and break the 20-year drought that has been hanging over the league.

Pittsburgh Penguins
In their last two Stanley Cup appearances, the Penguins have been able to come out on top each time. Granted, they lost one in 2009, at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings. Nonetheless, there are a myriad of differences between Nashville and Detroit’s franchises.
Pittsburgh finished the regular season with a 50-21 record that gave way to a 2nd place finish in the Metropolitan Division, and a 2nd place finish in the Eastern Conference as well. The Penguins had to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Washington Capitals, and the Ottawa Senators to get their invite to the Finals.
Nashville Predators
The Predators are one of the youngest franchises in the NHL, but that isn’t stopping them from rising to the cream of the crop. Nashville has made three straight postseason appearances, and now they’ll be looking to make their first trip to the NHL Finals as eventful as possible.
The Predators turned in a 41-29-12 record this season, which landed them as the 4th best team in the Central Division, and the 8th best in the Western Conference. Seeing Nashville make a Stanley Cup appearance proves that a Wild Card team can make it all the way to the Finals. Hockey betting online fans will just have to wait to see if Nashville can overcome Pittsburgh.
The Predators faced the Chicago Blackhawks in the opening round of the playoffs. The Blackhawks were one of the best teams during the regular season, but the underdogs were able to sweep them in dramatic fashion. Nashville followed that sweep with a 4-2 routing of the St. Louis Blues and a 4-2 routing of the Anaheim Ducks.
