Los Angeles Kings

It’s hard to know what we can expect from the Los Angeles Kings this season considering that they’re the NHL’s newest franchise, put together by a flurry of selections from the expansion draft. But it seems that letting Los Angeles go around the nation and have their pick from each team’s stars makes some very good hockey. The Kings have yet to lose a game in regulation this season and come into Monday night’s contest sporting a 6-0-1 record that yields the franchise 13 points on the year. That tally is good enough to rank the Kings 1st in the Pacific Division and ties them with the St. Louis Blues for the lead in the Western Conference. Despite their stellar record, the online NHL betting odds are actually siding against Los Angeles. This will be the first time the Kings have faced off against Toronto and it will be interesting to see if the odds were right on this matchup. The 1 ½ point spread prediction is predicting a close one between these two. Los Angeles has won their last 4 games in a row.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs glide into this evening’s matchup flashing a 6-2-0 record that ranks Toronto 2nd in Atlantic Division, 3 points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning. Toronto is coming off a successful season that saw the franchise go all the way to the first round of the playoffs, where the Washington Capitals sent them packing. Toronto has been faring fairly well this season but is coming off a 6-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators. The betting hockey online odds are predicting a rebound for the Maple Leafs but they’ll have to get the job done against one of the most confident clubs currently competing in the NHL.

To help get the job done against Los Angeles, Toronto will be turning to leading point’s scorer Auston Matthews, who has 12 points on the season. Matthews tally has come thanks to their 7 goals and 5 assists on the season. Matthews is also the Leafs’ leading goal earner but William Nylander beats him in assists (6).
