Online NHL Betting Predicting A Tough One Wednesday Night

Posted by: Anthony Yaylor

This Wednesday, online NHL betting fans can bet on an alluring matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues. Both teams currently find themselves at the top of the Western Conference’s Central Division and Wednesday night’s matchup should help shed some light as to which team is truly better. Right now Chicago leads the division with a slight 1-point lead. But all that could come crashing down this evening, if the Blues manage to pull off the win. Let’s see which team NHL sportsbooks are siding with.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. St. Louis Blues – Wednesday, October 18th

When: 8:00 pm ET

Where: Scottrade Center, St. Louis, Missouri

TV: NBC

Stream: NBC Extra, NHL TV

Online NHL Betting Odds:

Chicago Blackhawks +1 ½ (-290)    5 ½ (EV)         EV

St. Louis Blues -1 ½ (+245)   5 ½ (-120)       -120

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks come into this Wednesday’s matchup sporting a 4-1-1 record that yields the franchise 9 points on the season. As aforementioned, that 9-point tally lands Chicago at the top of the Central Division, where the St. Louis Blues are rapidly encroaching. The Blackhawks 2 losses of the season so far have come at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Minnesota Wild. This Wednesday’s matchup is the first time that Chicago has faced their division rivals and we’ll have to see how the Blackhawks can handle the Blues.

Most professional sports teams don’t let the odds affect them all that much but we’ll have to see how Chicago fares after being snubbed by the odds. Either way, the Blackhawks will be expecting a stellar outing from Patrick Kane, the man leading the team in both points and assists. Kane has a knack for connecting with Brandon Saad, who leads the team with 6 goals to his name.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues make their way into this Wednesday night pairing flashing a 4-2-0 record that grants St. Louis 8 points on the season. The Blues have conceded losses to the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lighting, which were St. Louis’ last two contests. The Blues come into this game riding a 2-game losing streak after suffering those losses but will be looking to jump right back on top of the horse, and subsequently the division, with a win over the Blackhawks this evening. Surprisingly enough, the online NHL betting odds are favoring the Blues and giving Chicago Pick ‘em odds, which is quite a dilemma for players who will bet on NHL games this evening.

To help lead them over their division rivals, the Blues will be turning to leading points scorer Alex Pietrangelo. Pietrangelo currently has 2 goals and 6 assists to his name, making him the franchise’s leading assist earner as well. Online NHL betting fans should look for Pietrangelo to connect with St. Louis’ leading goal earner, Vladimir Tarasenko. Tarasenko currently has 4 goals to his name and will be looking to add a few more this evening.
