New York Rangers vs Philadelphia Flyers 02/24/2021 – The Philadelphia Flyers will be playing as if they are on survival when they host the New York Rangers with a shorthanded roster on Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Center. Philly dropped its second straight and its fourth in the last five games when the Boston Bruins cruised past the team on Sunday, 7-3. The visitors, whilst still trailing the Flyers by significant points in the East Standings, are gaining some traction as they seek their third win in a row. But despite New York’s surge, top online sportsbooks still tag them as underdogs on the road with a +118 price to win; the Flyers are offered at -130. The match starts at 07:00 PM Eastern Time and will be available live on NBCSN and NHL.TV.

New York Rangers
The New York Rangers are indeed back on track. After losing four straight, New York has turned the tables and now has the chance to win three straight when they visit the Flyers. The victory that snapped the previous losing skid was in fact against Philly. It happened on Thursday also at the Well Fargo Center where they scored a 3-2 win in a shootout. The Rangers took advantage of the Flyers’ banged-up roster and will try to do it for the second straight time on Wednesday. The team is still four points behind their hosts in the standings with 15 points on six wins in 16 games. Obviously, they are still below .500 with lots of work to do to catch up, but their steps while trailing are slowly getting heard. Momentum is on their side, especially after a convincing 4-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
Players to watch: A. Panarin LW (G 5, A 13, PTS 18), P. Buchnevich RW (G 4, A 8, PTS 12), R. Strome C (G 5, A 4, PTS 9).
The Flyers were left with no choice but to play with a depleted line up in their last two outings, both of which resulted in painful losses. Flyers coach Alain Vigneault had to make the most out of his remaining weapons as six of his key players were placed on the COVID-19 list. But while some are expected to be back for Wednesday’s game, there is still a high chance that captain Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek, Scott Laughton, Travis Konecny and Oskar Lindblom won’t be able to suit up for the team. The recent struggles are expected given the circumstances; afterall, they still have a pretty comfortable lead over the Rangers as they sit at the fifth spot of the division race. But Vigneault is hoping to have his squad back at full strength as soon as possible, citing the need for his sidelined players to find their rhythm immediately as they continue their quest this season.
Players to watch: J. van Riemsdyk LW (G 8, A 13, PTS 21), K. Hayes C (G 6, A 9, PTS 15), J. Farabee LW (G 8, A 6, PTS 14).

Rangers vs Flyers Betting Picks
The Flyers will play minus a chunk of key players once again, but unlike their first meeting against the Rangers, they will survive this time. It will still be a grind-out battle, though, as the visitors are expected to put up another gallant fight. This game will go down to the wire with Philly escaping to snap their losing skid and maintain their lead in the NHL Regular Season standings.
Score Prediction: Rangers 3, Flyers 4.
