Nashville Predators vs Washington Capitals 01/29/2020 – The Nashville Predators still could not quite figure out how to wake up from a slumber despite the break. The road just gets tougher as they face the league’s best team Washington Capitals on Wednesday on the road. Alex Ovechkin will return from a one-game suspension for the Capitals who will try to extend their winning streak to five. The same trend might continue at least based on the updated NHL betting lines which project the home team to win the match.

Nashville Predators vs Washington Capitals 01/29/2020 Betting Odds:
It has been a 180-degree turn in almost a year span for Nashville. After topping the Central Division last year, the Predators have hit rock-bottom this season, winning only 22 games of their 48 total. The next couple of games do not look promising for the team as they are scheduled to play their next six matches on the road. With a lot of catching up to do while facing a tough schedule, Roman Josi will have to regain his scoring instinct and lead his team in turning up the tide of their rather disappointing season.
Players to watch: Roman Josi (GP 48, G 14, A 34, PTS 48), Filip Forsberg (GP 42, G 16, A 17, PTS 33), Matt Duchene (GP 45, G 10, A 22, PTS 32).
Ovechkin’s absence on Monday’s game in Montreal hardly mattered as the Capitals still defeated the Canadiens, 4-2. The Washington star captain was suspended after deciding to sit out the All-Star game last weekend. Aside from notching their fourth straight victory, the Capitals also seized their seventh win in nine games. And during that stretch, the team was able to post at least four goals six times. Washington now sits at a more comfortable cushion at the top of the NHL standings as they are three wins and six points above Pittsburgh in the Metropolitan ladder.
Players to watch: John Carlson (GP 50, G 13, A 47, PTS 60), Alex Ovechkin (GP 49, G 34, A 16, PTS 50), Evgeny Kuznetsov (GP 47, G 16, A 27, PTS 43).
Nashville Predators vs Washington Capitals Betting Predictions
Predators are 11-3 in their last 14 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals.
Capitals are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference.
Predators vs Capitals Betting Picks
The surge will continue for the Capitals. Playing at home while riding a red-hot streak, expect Washington to conduct an ice hockey clinic to the Nashville Predators. The road team may score a couple of goals in this game, but the hosts will still come out winning their fifth straight.
Score Prediction: Capitals 4, Predators 2.
