Nashville Predators
Filip Forsberg and Matt Duchene took the cudgels on offense for the Nashville Predators on Thursday and helped the team snapp a two-game losing streak. Not only did the duo provide the needed points to squeak past the Panthers, but they made sure that their respective scoring contribution would come when it counted most. With 57 seconds left in regulation, Duchene summoned his grit and scored the game-tying goal to send the match to the extended period. Forsberg then took over in OT, scoring the eventual game winner just one minute into the period. But despite the dramatic win, there is still a lot of work to do for Nashville in their bid to catch up with their division rivals who are above them in the NHL Regular Season standings.

Florida Panthers
The Panthers did not want to point fingers following the heartbreaking loss to the Predators, but skeptics believe that lapses on the part of goalie Sergei Bobrovsky were a huge contributing factor that led to the late-game collapse. The team was comfortably leading 5-3 in the third period when Bobrovsky let his guard down, allowing the Predators to launch a major uprising and eventually steal the win. Panthers coach Joel Quenneville refused to blame his netminder for the loss, saying the latter “was OK.” Instead, the tactician shifted his focus and heaped praises on winger Jonathan Huberdeau, who notched his first career hat trick while posting his first five-point game as well. Quenneville, though, is hoping for a better performance from his team overall as they brace for a major comeback.
Players to watch: J. Huberdeau LW G 4 A 8 PTS 12, A. Barkov C G 3 A 6 PTS 9, P. Hornqvist RW G 5 A 3 PTS 8
