St. Louis Blues
The St. Louis Blues slide into this evening’s contest flashing a 13-4 record that ranks them 1st in the Central Division. The Blues are well on their way to making their 7th straight postseason appearance but there’s still plenty of time for St. Louis to lose that No. 1 spot in the Central Division. Right now the Winnipeg Jets are the Blues’ biggest threat, with the Jets having 21 points on the year. That gives St. Louis a 6 point lead over their nearest competitor, thanks to the 27 points the club has accrued so far this year. Furthermore, that 27 point mark ranks St. Louis as the best team in the Western Conference and is the second highest tally of any team in the NHL, with the Tampa Bay Lightning taking the lead with 30. The Blues are coming off a disappointing 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders this past Saturday. St. Louis will be looking for a hard rebound this evening and the sportsbook betting odds are predicting that they’ll get it.
The Flames will be looking to extend the Blues losing streak to 2 while picking up their second consecutive win as well. Calgary comes into this evening’s contest sporting a 9-7-0 record that ranks the club 4th in the Pacific Division, thanks to their 18 point tally on the year. Eighteen points is good enough to rank Calgary 4th in the Pacific Division, 2 points behind the 3rd place San Jose Sharks. Things are extremely close at the top of the Pacific Division; with the top three teams all being within 4 points of each other. The Flames could certainly make a push to take the lead in the division. They’ll need to mount a win streak in order to do so; something Calgary hasn’t had much luck doing so this year. The Flames biggest win streak came in the first month of the season as Calgary was able to win three straight. They’ll need something a little more impressive if they are to crack the top three in the division. The Flames are coming off a 6-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings this past Thursday.
