Counting Thursday’s action, only 4 days are left in this year’s online NHL betting regular season. It’s a bittersweet time as soon the hockey playoff odds will be upon us, heralding the start of the best hockey games of the year. But at the same time, it also means that pretty soon, those who bet on NHL will have to kiss their favorite sports season farewell.

Latest Online NHL Betting News & Predictions

Luckily enough for hockey betting fans, the NHL has packed Thursday’s action with a spectrum of contests. In some matchups, teams will be fighting to secure a spot in this year’s postseason. In others, clubs look to end the season on a high note, and scrap together as many wins as possible. The Western Conference has their playoff spots all clinched up and in the East, we pretty much know who the contenders are going to be. However, in the next couple of days, a couple of teams could swap seeds, which would ultimately affect the NHL’s first round of matchups. The contest that will ultimately determine this is the matchup between the Ottawa Senators and the Boston Bruins.

Ottawa Senators vs. Boston Bruins – Thursday, April 6th

Online NHL Betting Line:

Ottawa Senators +1 ½ (-170) 5 ½ (+115)     +168

Boston Bruins -1 ½ (+150)    5 ½ (-135)       -195

Boston Bruins

After competing in 80 games this season, the Bruins slide into Thursday’s contest sporting a 44-30-6 record that yields the franchise 94 points on the season. With that tally, the Bruins currently own the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic. Points wise, they’re currently tied with No. 2 Ottawa, and even though Boston has two more wins on the season, the standings could favor the Senators once the end of the season rolls around. Thursday night’s contest against the Senators will mark the 4th and final time the Bruins have faced the Senators this season. Ottawa has won all three contests so far (3-1, 4-2, 3-2) which will heavily impact the division’s seeding.

The Bruins have two games left on the season and will be looking to pick up their first win against Ottawa. The online NHL betting odds think they can get it done, and the 6-game win streak that Boston is currently on supports that notion.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators have competed in 79 games so far this season, and have racked up a 42-27-10 record that net the franchise 94 points on the season. The Senators are coming off a season in which they failed to qualify for the playoffs, and the franchise will be happy to get back into postseason play. The Senators still have three games left to play this season. The Senators have posted a 1-5 record in their last 6 games and will be looking for a turnaround as they enter the postseason.
