Top 5 NFL betting faves to win the NFC

Posted by: Charlie Smith

The Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, and Seattle Seahawks are the NFL betting favorites to win the National Football Conference East, North, South, and West divisions, respectively.

Online betting odds to win NFC East

  • Dallas Cowboys +130
  • New York Giants +250
  • Philadelphia Eagles +340
  • Washington Redskins +560

The Philadelphia Eagles were the last team to win back-to-back divisional titles – four straight from 2001 to 2004. The Cowboys have come the closest ever since with four non-consecutive Division championships in 2007, 2009, 2014, and 2016. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record last season, including an 11-game winning streak. Unfortunately, fame and success may have gone to Zeke’s head – if his recent behaviour is any indication – though both Dez Bryant and Tony Romo vouch for him. “It’s just a stepping stone that he’s gonna get over,” Bryant told reporters at his kickoff party. “As he gets older, he’s gonna mature and things are gonna get a lot smoother.” Hopefully the maturation process involves wearing jerseys that go all the way down to his waist.

Odds to win NFC North

  • Green Bay Packers -225
  • Minnesota Vikings +375
  • Detroit Lions +700
  • Chicago Bears +4050

The Packers have won five division titles in the last six seasons. The Vikings briefly intruded upon Green Bay’s dominance in 2015 and it seemed as if the Vikes could make it back-to-back for the first time since 2008-09 as new starting QB led them to a 5-0 start while the Packs had a disastrous first half of the season. The tables were turned, however, and the Green and Gold finished 10-6 while the Vikings finished 8-8.

NFL betting odds to win NFC South

  • Atlanta Falcons +170
  • Carolina Panthers +260
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +355
  • New Orleans Saints -+460

The Falcons snapped the Panthers’ three-year division championship streak on their way to the Super Bowl. Atlanta followed Mike Love’s advice about what not to do with the formula and, had Kyle Shanahan not left to become the next head coach of the San Francisco 49ers – better to reign in hell, as they say – the Falcons would have returned pretty much the same roster and staff. Nonetheless, new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian’s job is pretty simple in theory: just keep Matt Ryan happy.

Odds to win NFC West

  • Seattle Seahawks -290
  • Arizona Cardinals +330
  • Los Angeles Rams +2550
  • San Francisco 49ers +4050

The Seahawks have won three the divisional title in three of the last four seasons. The ‘Hawks’ home stadium is almost as responsible as Russell Wilson and crew are for the team’s dominance; Seattle is 34-6 at CenturyLink Field with an average scoring margin of plus-12.2 points per game. Speaking of Wilson, he played through injuries in 2016 and was often left unprotected by an O-line that ranked 26th in run blocking and 25th in pass blocking. He posted a career-best 4,219 passing yards so people who bet on football know his delivers under pressure, but he still deserves a better offensive line.
