Which Team Can Keep Their Playoff Hopes Alive?

The Green Bay Packers may have entered the season as online NFL betting favorites to win the NFC North, and even compete in the Super Bowl, but now an entirely different atmosphere envelops the Packers; mediocrity. Once thought to have been a powerhouse in the NFC, it is now clear that there are several things wrong with Green Bay. On a team devoid of stars, Aaron Rodgers is having a hard time leading the Packers to a winning record. Although he hasn’t lost his confidence, at 4-6 Green Bay is all but out of the Wild Card race. At this point the Packers’ best chance of making the division would be to win the remaining 6 games on their schedule and try to take back the North. But in order to achieve that Green Bay would need a major turnaround from the way they have been playing. In Week 12 the Packers will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Since the Packers are coming into this contest with a 4-game losing streak; how much will NFL sportsbooks favor the Eagles?
NFL Odds – Week 12 – Monday, November 28th
Philadelphia Eagles -4 (-115) 47½ (-110) -210
The NFL football betting odds are painting the Eagles as a -210 favorite. At 5-5, Philadelphia is desperately trying to stay alive in the Wild Card race. Unlike the Packers, the Eagles best chances of qualifying for the playoffs would be clinching a Wild Card spot, since they share their division with the 10-1 Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately for Eagles fans, Philadelphia is two games behind the New York Giants and one game behind the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card race so a loss would practically put them out of contention.
At the start of the season it seemed that Carson Wentz was a natural fit for Philadelphia and the Eagles were indubitably bound for the postseason. However, after they won their first three games of the season, the Eagles’ good fortune soon turned to adversity. Once hailed as a hero, Wentz is now starting to play more like your average rookie, instead of a potential ROY award recipient. Heading into this contest, the Eagles will sport the league’s 25th worst passing offense as well as the 19th worst total offense. Their rushing offense is the 7th best in the NFL, but the thing that is influencing the online NFL betting odds the most is the Eagles’ defense.
As of right now the Eagles have the 9th best passing defense, which will spell trouble for the Packers and their pass-first offense. Aaron Rodgers hasn’t had his best year, but Green Bay will still be coming into Sunday’s game with the 10th best passing offense. Unfortunately, Rodgers hasn’t been enough to upset the online NFL betting odds in recent weeks and the Packers will need different players to step up and make game-winning plays.
